Hello everyone, this is cyb0rgbytes back again with another inspiring experience! today I'm going to share with you my experience in a CTF that is so fun and engaging.

The CTF was called : BITSCTF2024

The Challenge was called: CID

Let me first tell you why I loved this challenge and why I’m sharing it even though I couldn’t solve it, this challenge was so complicated and very puzzling which intrigues me & keeps me motivated, well I'm someone who is really interested in investigation practices and linking findings together and of course a Sherlock fan.

let me dive into the challenge and cut down the intros.

The Challenge category was “forensics” and the info was about a murder that was being investigated by the CID “Criminal Investigations Department (CID)” the investigation was stopped because no evidence was found and therefore we were given a confidential report file that has all the investigation data in it.

After collecting the report data & researching a bit online about the file extension and etc, I started sorting out the information that I have on hand.

Father of Deceased: Alexander I of Yugoslavia

Mother of Deceased: Marie (Mignon) Hohenzollern

Deceased: Peter [ 1923–09–06, +1970 ] ( 46 years )

I kept trying to solve the challenge but it was too complicated but I enjoyed the process, and I understood that I can improve by time and achieve something in the future CTF’s.

Thanks for reading everyone and stay tuned for the next ones.
